Mr. Wallace co-founded McCann Realty Partners in 2004. He has over 25 years of multi-family real estate experience and focuses on the firm’s strategic initiatives, including all aspects of McCann’s activities in the capital markets related to the development, acquisition, and disposition of over 25,000 apartment homes in transactions valued at more than $3.5 billion. Fleet also helped form, and later acquire a 100% interest in, Pegasus Residential, our property management company. Pegasus manages a portfolio of approximately 48,000 apartments throughout the Southeast, Mid Atlantic, Texas and Midwest areas of the US.

Prior to co-founding McCann, Mr. Wallace worked with John McCann and Matt Akin at UDR, Inc., a large publicly traded multi-family real estate investment trust (REIT), as corporate counsel and assistant secretary. While at UDR, Mr. Wallace managed general corporate matters for over 150 affiliated entities, negotiated and executed numerous real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and provided legal support on over $1 billion in real estate financing transactions. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Wallace practiced corporate law at McGuireWoods in Richmond, Virginia, negotiating and structuring mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and venture capital / private equity financing for privately held and public corporations.

Mr. Wallace has a BA in History and a JD from the University of Virginia. He also holds a certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University and is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Pegasus Residential and the Anna Julia Cooper School.
